Description

STARCRASH is a parallel fortran code that uses Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) techniques to calculate the 3-d evolution of self-gravitating fluid systems. The code is particularly suited to the study of binary stellar interactions, such as mergers of neutron star systems and stellar collisions. It was developed by RIT Associate Professor Joshua Faber (then at Northwestern University), Jamie Lombardi (Allegheny Collegel then Vassar College), and Fred Rasio (Northwestern). This code is  freely distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL).
