The symmetry of nonabelian gauge theory resembles another subset of the diffeomorphism invariance of GR, and I have conducted a study of the generalized quantum mechanics of such theories, which exhibit more complexity than the abelian theories previously examined [Hartle, in Gravitation and Quantizations, Proceedings of the 1992 Les Houches Summer School, edited by B. Julia and J. Zinn-Justin (North Holland, Amsterdam, 1995)], but less than GR itself.

This work has been published as Phys Rev D53, 3118 (1996) and is also available as a preprint from the XXX e-print database at Los Alamos. The PostScript figures (~10kB compressed, ~25kB uncompressed) are now available there as well.
