Background

Brendan Drachler is a PhD student working at the Center for Computational Relativity and Gravitation (CCRG) under Prof. Manuela Campanelli. He is primarily interested in magnetohydrodynamics simulations of supermassive binary black holes and their accretion disks as well as using the simulations as tools to understand the underlying physics that occurs near these massive objects. He is also participating in a large collaborative effort poised to simulate  accretion processes in binary neutron star coalescences from prior to merger through to the formation of disks and/or collapse of the merged remnant, the production of jets, and launching of outflows.
