General Relativistic Magneto-Hydrodynamics

General Relativistic Magneto-Hydrodynamics (GRMHD) concerns the development of new numerical hydrodynamics techniques, typically used in fluid dynamics, to full general relativity to study phenomena such gamma ray bursts (unexplained blasts of intense electromagnetic radiation which are believed to be related to the emission of gravitational waves), and the modeling of active galactic nuclei containing supermassive black holes to understand the origin of energetic jets.
