Arts and Sciences

Here a few art works and performances that resulted from interesting collaborations between researchers in our center and artists:

  • Astrodance, an NSF funded project (DRL 1136221) based on a novel dance performance representing the merger of black holes, gravitational waves and the dynamics of gas around black holes in collaboration with Thomas Warfield and the department of creative studies & arts of NTID and CIS.
  • Art work from our simulation of binary black-hole mergers, by Pascal Bircher, Galerie Martine et Thibault dela Châtre, Paris (France). (October 2008) [Internal Wiki]
  • A simulation of three black holes mergers, the LISA and Hubble observatories represented on a monumental glass artwork by Nancy Gong at the RIT's innovation and creative center. Video (May 2009)
